Olivia Song

Olivia is a fully qualified teacher specialising in Mandarin and EAL, and trained at the UCL Institute of Education. With 5 years of experience teaching at a London secondary school, she has worked with students from Year 7 to Year 13. Many of her GCSE and A-Level students have gone on to study Mandarin at university and beyond.
Known for her creative and engaging teaching style, Olivia integrates technology and interactive activities to bring language learning to life. Some of her lessons were filmed by Pearson Edexcel and published as official teaching resources. Throughout her career, she also demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, adeptly navigating complex conversations with colleagues, students, and parents. She completed the National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership and was promoted twice, ultimately leading a Modern Foreign Languages faculty of 10 teachers from a variety of age groups and cultural backgrounds.
Olivia’s passion for education extended well beyond the classroom. She organised a successful one-week trip to Beijing for 22 students aged 15-18, along with numerous cultural excursions to London’s Chinatown and institutions such as the BFI - enhancing her students’ learning through immersive, real-world experiences.
Now, drawing on the transferable skills she developed as an educator and her background in filmmaking, Olivia is embarking on a new creative path in film Producing.
